About

I modernise enterprise platforms, and lead the engineers who build them.

I'm Munir, a Lead Engineer at Bupa Australia. I've spent over a decade designing, modernising and scaling enterprise digital platforms in complex, regulated environments.

Most of that work sits where legacy meets modern: evolving traditional CMS-driven solutions into cloud-native, headless platforms without breaking what customers rely on today. I work across .NET, Azure, Sitecore, Redis and Next.js, and I care most about systems that are reliable, observable and cheap to maintain long after launch.

As a lead, my job is as much about people and decisions as code. I set technical direction, work with product, QA, DevOps and architecture to turn ambiguous problems into clear plans, and raise the bar through design reviews, code reviews and mentoring.

Lately I've been focused on how AI changes the way engineering teams work: building Copilot prompt libraries and ticket templates so my team gets consistent, reviewable output from AI tools, and running agent-based workflows in my own day-to-day, from planning and 1:1 prep to shipping side projects like this site. I'm interested in where AI genuinely speeds a team up, and where it quietly adds risk.

I studied Computer Science and Engineering at Politecnico di Milano on scholarship, and I've worked across Australia, Italy, Malaysia and Bangladesh, including time in product R&D at Sitecore.

How I think about engineering

  1. Start from the business problemBefore the solution: what are we actually solving, and for whom?
  2. Systems over ticketsA ticket closes; a system has to be owned, operated and changed for years.
  3. Name the trade-offEvery decision costs something. Say what, out loud, before it ships.
  4. Complexity has to earn its placeThe simplest thing that holds up in production usually wins.
  5. Surface the couplingHidden dependencies, between services or between teams, are where delivery risk lives.
